HPS Reports is an information gathering tool for Windows servers.HPS Reports is similar to the Microsoft MPS Report, except it collects additional HP specific Hardware content. If you have a blue screen on a ProLiant Server running Windows and you have Windows support with HP, or you want HP to determine if the blue screen is hardware related. It’s possible that the systems specialist who takes your call may request an HPS Report.
Note that there are currently four different variants of the tool.
1.HPSRPT_Enhanced_v9.1.00-x86.EXE – ProLiant –x86 – Running Windows NT/2000/2003/2008 32bit
2.HPSRPT_Enhanced_v9.1.00-ia64.EXE – Integrety – Running Windows 2003/2008 64 bit Itanium
3.HPSRPT_Enhanced_v9.1.00-x64.EXE – AMD64/Intel EM64T or Intel64 – Running Windows 2003/2008 64 bit
And finally..
4. HPSRPT_Enhanced_v9.1.00.cmd – If you’re not sure. This tool will figure out what you need from above and install it.
An easy way to run the report is to press the button next to the HPS Report kit you need. This button downloads the tool and triggers the running of an initial report. While it’s collecting information the tool will display a notepad with documentation on how to use it in the future.
When you run the report, an informational window will appear showing you the tools progress and where it is storing the resultant report, which will consist of a CAB file that can be unpacked using windows. When the report is complete an explorer window containing the new CAB file will appear. Typically the report will be placed in C:WindowsHPSReportsEnhancedReportcap and the name will be _HPSReports_ENHANCED__.CAB
You can open and explore the contents of this CAB file or unpack it with the Zip utility. The unpacked HPS Report provides a large number of files and a default.htm file that allows for easy navigation via an HTML browser. Just double click on the default.htm file and an internet browser window will appear. You may need to allow ActiveX to run to get the full menu view.

USAGE:
This data collection tool supports Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows 2008 and Windows 2012. There are x86, x64 and ia64 platform architecture specific versions. It is important to ensure the correct version is run as the data collected may be in the wrong context. For example if the x86 version is run on a 64 bit platform then the data collected is in a 32 bit context and purely from a 32 bit perspective.
There are seven main reporting modules, these may be collected independently of each other.
– /os – To perform a Operating Specific collection
– /dp – To perform a Data Protector collection
– /exch – To perform a Exchange Server collection
– /sql – To perform a SQL Server collection
– /msinfo – To collect an MSInfo32 report
– /hw – To perform a Hardware and SAN collection
– /oaip:{IPadd} – To perform a BladeSystem OA collection
– /msaip:{IPadd} – To perform a MSA2000 Controller collection
– /ltt – To perform a Library and Tape Tools collection of all connected SCSI devices attached to the host
Summary
Beyond the Summary information each menu tab leads to a tree of additional information containing details about the operating system and hardware. Depending on what HP diagnostic tools are installed HPS Report will use these additional tools to gather even more HP server specific information.
